I'm a foodie! I love the challenge of taking comfort food recipes and transforming them into lighter, healthier and tasty versions. I grew up as an overweight kid.
Weighing over 150lbs by age 10. I witnessed family members living with obesity and sadly, many of the health complications that accompanies it. I made the decision in my teens that I did not want to live with those complications! I tried every diet under the sun in an attempt to lose weight and get 'healthier’. I found they all worked, but weren’t sustainable. I was fit into my 20s, but after having my twin girls I peaked at my highest weight of 220lbs. I tried, yet again, another fad diet only to gain the weight back.
Balance and tweaking some of my favorite foods was key for me.
Through education and experience, I learned the value of nutritious foods...and they aren’t just for weight-loss! Eating a healthier diet may also reduce risk to many diseases, improves mood, and heals your body as well as your mind.
I started weight training and loving fitness in my late teens. Having had a difficult upbringing, exercise became my outlet. Today, it is still my ‘therapy’ and has helped me manage an autoimmune disease that causes chronic pain/illness and fatigue. I no longer dread to work out, I get to workout! I started weight training and loving fitness in my late teens. Having had a difficult upbringing, exercise became my outlet. Today, it is still my ‘therapy’ and has helped me manage an autoimmune disease that causes chronic pain/illness and fatigue. I no longer dread to work out, I get to workout! I had to slowly rebuild my body modifying workouts due to the chronic pain and physical limitations. It is possible to gain strength and muscle without HIIT or powerlifting!
I offer personal training as an additional service, and help clients with a fitness routine that supports their personal goals. I always stress that any exercise is better than zero exercise! I encourage clients to do some planned physical activity that they truly enjoy, not hate! Just do something to get moving! The value of regular activity becomes apparent over time.
I believe to achieve overall health and wellness we need to address mindset. Emotional and mental well-being is the foundation to long-term changes.

Sleep, stress management and mindfulness techniques are also explored. Patterns of negative self-talk, self-sabotage, co-dependency, are also addressed as needed to support their wellness vision.
It is vital to increase emotional growth which leads to long-term changes and increased self-worth. When you know your capable of reaching your goals and worth the effort that's when change happens.
